The Winning Designer

When our two weeks were up we narrowed our submissions to the top ten and presented them to our peers, colleges, publisher and social networks and asked for a vote. We assumed this would help us narrow it down to one, it didn’t. We had votes across the spectrum. At this point we had to step in and make a decision ourselves by choosing the cover we though would be most pleasing. We used the three favorites from the voters and chose our favorite from there. There were two designs in the top three from one submitter, and his name is Christopher Bridges, our winning designer.

Christopher Bridges

Graduated from The University of Central Oklahoma in 2009 with a BFA in Graphic Design. In 2010, He received a local and district Gold ADDY Award for a book he wrote and Illustrated titled, Blip The Bot!". He also received an award of excellence from the College of Fine Arts and Design the same year. Working as a designer for a company, Chris freelance designs to supplement his income.

As a freelancer, Chris relies on crowdsourcing websites. Instead of using his time to find new clients and new projects, goes straight to the projects, and actually picks from a huge directory of work to find a job best suited for hisskills.

“I found out about this project from a friend that posted a link to it on their Facebook account,” Chris explains“It's strange to say, but practically all of my work comes from references through people that have seen my work online, or friends hearing of projects and introducing them to me.  It makes my job much easier when I can just concentrate on doing good work, as opposed to spending much of my time trying to find it.”
